NEWS!!!
The Skanx have released their debut mini-album, entitled "The Skanx". It contains five of the band's original songs and is available to download from 208 Records and on iTunes.

The Skanx are a 9-piece ska and funk band from South-east London. Founded in 2008 by alto saxophonist Ratty, The Skanx quickly grew to a 9-piece band with a revamped rhythm section, three horns and two vocalists.

The band's sound is influenced not only by original '60s ska and '70s TwoTone but also by funk, dub reggae, trip-hop and jazz. As well as original material written by band members, they also play a variety of well-known and obscure cover versions.

The Skanx describe themselves as "a group of friends who love playing music and making people move their feet"!

The Skanx are:

  • Lori - Vocals
  • Wayne - Vocals, MC, trombone
  • Nick - Guitar
  • Jimi - Bass
  • Paul - Drums
  • Simon - Organ, Wurlitzer electric piano, Stylophone
  • Liam - Tenor sax
  • Wendy - Trumpet
  • Stuart - Trumpet, percussion
